Permanent Product Design Engineer
Job Description
Minima is an award winning design innovation agency. We create, prototype and deliver commercially successful products, services and equipment using an innovation process based on an improved user experience.
A Product Design Engineer is required in the expansion of the Minima team in Suffolk, England detailing innovative new product development projects in a wide range of industries.
In addition to mechanical engineering expertise for consumer, healthcare or industrial product development, prospective candidates should possess project management skills and the ability to interact with clients when planning new jobs, running projects and presenting work.
A successful applicant is likely to be a self-motivated, independent thinker, with patience and the ability to deliver work starting from a blank sheet of paper both as part of a team and from individual initiative. A prospective candidate must be organised with good attention to detail and convey a positive attitude with a sense of humour.
Requirements include:
Established new product development experience
Excellent skills with Solidworks CAD software
Project and client management experience
Demonstrable expertise with a wide range of engineering innovation in some of the following:
• Concept generation • Engineering analysis • Design for Manufacture in both high and low volume
• Lab testing for both proof of principle and reliability • Materials selection
Desire to improve professional skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Excellent Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
A demonstrable track record of developing new products and equipment through to market
Salary Package
